10:10 on City Road

A microcosm of the Welsh capital, City Road is an area known for its rapidly changing landscape. Inspired by the work of Karel Appel, I reflected on the shifting social and urban uses within the neighbourhood and curated a series of thirteen hourly interventions — taking place from 10 am to 10 pm — that reimagined the city along this particular road. These included sculpture, performance, and community engagement, and were accompanied by a zine created as part of the project. Responding directly to the site and with sustainability in mind, I used only locally sourced or reclaimed materials.

The project encouraged the public to re-see the city they occupy and to imagine its potential for positive change.
