Ghent, Belgium | June – September 2024

Having been offered a residency at the artist-run space De Verffabriek – a former paint factory on the edge of the city – we sought to open a dialogue between the space and the surrounding neighbourhood.
Over the summer months, we hosted a series of participatory activities and events inspired by the local area. We used archival materials to reflect on the history of textile manufacturing in the area, and contemporary questions around access to public, social, and cultural space. These explorations informed the development of a number of scenographic installations which were presented alongside a public programme at the end of the residency.
